Solar array removal for roof work, repowering, and system retirement

Commercial solar systems sometimes need to come down before the end of their useful life. Roof replacement, site redevelopment, repowering, equipment failure, ownership changes, and end-of-life planning can all create a need for an organized removal plan. We review the site, equipment, access, schedule, and expected equipment disposition before quoting the project.

Rooftop & ground-mount arrays

We evaluate commercial rooftop and ground-mounted systems based on project size, access, equipment type, and site conditions.

Equipment recovery & reuse

Working modules, inverters, racking, and related equipment can be evaluated for resale or reuse instead of automatically becoming waste.

Project-specific removal scope

Removal method, handling, freight, equipment disposition, schedule, and price are confirmed in a written quote.

Equipment we can evaluate during decommissioning

Solar panels & modules

Make, model, wattage, quantity, visible condition, and test information help determine whether modules may have second-life value.

Inverters & electrical equipment

String inverters, commercial inverters, disconnects, combiners, and related electrical equipment can be reviewed as part of the project.

Racking & balance-of-system

Reusable mounting hardware and other solar components may be separated for reuse when condition, compatibility, and logistics make sense.

Commercial solar decommissioning FAQ

Can equipment value reduce the cost of removal?

Potentially. Usable equipment can have resale or reuse value. Any credit, purchase, or equipment transfer is evaluated project by project and documented in the quote.

What information do you need for a quote?

Send the property address, approximate system size or panel count, roof or ground-mount type, equipment models if known, photos, access information, and your target schedule.

Do you also buy equipment from other decommissioning projects?

Yes. We evaluate working used and surplus solar panels, inverters, racking, and related equipment even when Midlands Energy is not performing the removal.

Every project is different. Site conditions, electrical scope, roof or ground restoration, hazardous materials, recycling requirements, and local requirements can affect the final scope.
